How My LUT Works
My LUTs foundation is a FUJIFILM D65 Emulation LUT, enhanced with custom tone curves, colour warping, and HSV saturation adjustments. This combination creates my film look.
It can also serve as a strong foundation for building a more authentic film aesthetic when paired with additional effects, such as grain, glow and halation.
Designed for a streamlined workflow, it's compatible with most LOG profiles including Sony, Apple LOG, DJI DLOG-M, Canon LOG, and also includes test LUTs for Panasonic, Nikon, and Fuji. I personally shoot on a Sony a6700 in SLOG3 & S-Gamut3.Cine.
How Is The PowerGrade Different To The LUT?
The DaVinci PowerGrade offers a colour managed node-based workflow allowing you to fine-tune your image to perfection while keeping the output at the highest quality. It provides significantly more control than using the LUT alone, giving you full control over the contrast curve, effects, and secondary adjustments—including power windows, colour density, and saturation.
